The lost Dinar

In a small village nestled between green hills, two close friends, Ahmed and Hamza, lived simple and peaceful lives. They were both devout Muslims, known in their village for their strong faith, kindness, and honesty. One day, as Ahmed was walking home from the market, he stumbled upon a small leather pouch lying on the ground. Curious, he picked it up and opened it. Inside, he found a single gold dinar, shining brightly in the afternoon sun. Ahmed was surprised but quickly realized that someone must have lost it.Instead of keeping the gold coin, Ahmed decided to ask around the village to find the owner. His first stop was at Hamza’s house. Hamza greeted his friend warmly, and after some small talk, Ahmed showed him the dinar.“I found this on the road near the market. It must belong to someone in the village,” Ahmed explained.Hamza looked at the coin and nodded. “Indeed, it is a valuable coin. Many in the village would be tempted to keep it, but you have chosen to do the right thing by finding its rightful owner. Let’s work together to return it.”The two friends went around the village, asking everyone they met if they had lost a dinar. They visited the homes of the villagers, spoke to the merchants, and even asked the children playing in the streets, but no one claimed the coin.As the sun began to set, Ahmed and Hamza grew tired but remained determined. Finally, they approached the home of an elderly woman who lived alone at the edge of the village. When they asked her about the coin, her eyes filled with tears.“Alhamdulillah,” she whispered, her voice shaking. “That coin belongs to me. It was the last of my savings, and I lost it on my way to buy medicine. I prayed to Allah to help me find it.”Ahmed handed the coin to her with a smile. “This dinar is yours, Aunty. May Allah bless you with good health.”The old woman thanked them profusely, her gratitude evident in her teary eyes. Ahmed and Hamza left her home, feeling a deep sense of satisfaction. They had not only done the right thing by returning the coin but had also helped someone in need.As they walked back to their homes, Hamza turned to Ahmed and said, “Today, we’ve been reminded of the importance of honesty. Allah tests us in many ways, but if we remain true to our values, He rewards us with peace and contentment.”Ahmed nodded in agreement. “Indeed, my friend. Honesty is a virtue that lights our path, guiding us to do what is right, even when no one is watching.”And so, the two friends continued their lives, strengthened in their faith and commitment to honesty. Their story spread through the village, inspiring others to uphold the same values, knowing that true wealth lies not in gold but in the purity of the heart.
